Ensembles Inspired by Moulin Rouge
This 2001 film stars Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor. The beautiful costumes, which were inspired by the Victorian period, were designed by Catherine Martin and Angus Strathie. Don't be afraid to ask me about ensembles from this film that aren't listed here; I love doing custom projects!

Moulin Rouge: Satine's "Red Temptress" Gown
This is the design art for original gown created for Nicole Kidman to wear in the film.
My Version
My version of the gown (back view). It consists of heavy-weight red bridal satin and features a low V-cut bodice that is boned and laced up the back. The skirt portion is a 7-gore Victorian design, accented with a butterfly bow bustle and train. The skirt is lined in black and the bow is also lined in black.
I do offer a budget version of this gown which has no skirt lining and the bow is lined in red instead of black. Also the train is not as long. The gown is made exactly the same except for the omission of the lining and has the same finished results.
I cannot guarantee as rich a red color as shown as dye lots vary from bolt to bolt. If you are particular about the shade of red you want you must request a fabric swatch of what I have in stock at the time of ordering. If you decide you do not like my stock fabric for this gown you can choose a different type of satin, but it could result in a price difference in the gown.
This gown can be made in different colors at the request of the client. Sizing up to a 16/18 only, which is a maximum measurement of 44 Bust, 36 Waist and 45" hips. I cannot make this gown any larger than these measurements due to fitting issues with this bodice style.

My Deluxe Version
My deluxe version is virtually identical to my standard version, below. It differs only in that the bodice features beaded fish scale patterns that are similar to the film costume. Hat is included. Sizes 0-14 only.

My standard version of the ensemble. The costume is made with premium Swarovski trims, Swarovski rhinestones, and hand-done silver bugle bead and sequin details. The tails feature bugle bead fringe which layers down the back. The hat is included and is also trimmed with Swarovski rhinestones. Sizes 0-14 only.

My Budget Version
My budget version is in most respects identical to my standard version. Instead of Swarovski trims and beading, however, all details are made entirely of sequins. The fringe is a beadette fringe, NOT a bugle bead fringe. Hat is included. Sizes 0-14 only.

This is the original ensemble created for Nicole Kidman to wear in the film.
My Deluxe Version
My deluxe version is virtually identical to my standard version, below. It differs only in that I use actual ostrich boas in the "plumage" rather than chandelle boas. This is truer to the actual film version. Sizes 0-14 only.

My Standard Version
My standard version of the ensemble. This beautiful costume is made of a pale pink matte satin that is covered with pink fishnet and is then adorned with Heart-shaped appliques at the bust and lower center front. Appliques are encrusted with Swarovski rhinestones and each heart has a large heart at the center. Each heart applique is then trimmed with Swarovski trim at the edges. The bottom of the bodice is then trimmed with silver bugle bead fringe, and the back is bustled with chandelle boas. Note that the photo at right features marabou boas; I no longer offer a marabou version. Sizes 0-14 only.

My Budget Version
My budget version is in many ways identical to my standard version, above. Sequins and sequin trims are used in place of Swarovski crystals and trims, and the fringe is a beadette fringe (which is a metallic rayon blend and is made to look like beads but is not). Chandelle boas are used on this version. Sizes 0-14 only.
